Hands Up! send outreach staff into governmental and non-governmental projects in Nakuru, Kenya.
Our project sites include low-income slum schools, street child rehabilitation centres, and juvenile prisons. There, we work together with the institutions to create a programme of provision which includes academic subjects, 1:1 and group counselling sessions, and life skills workshops.
Our ultimate goal is to support children into long-term, formal educational settings.
In 2018, we also created a small fund to support provision of educational resources to vulnerable children in Northumberland, UK.
